With humor and heart, this offbeat drama tells the story of Cayetana,
a solitary 9-year-old girl with a vivid imagination, who is convinced she will have to die the day her brother is born. Set in the early 80s, Cayetana grows up in a privileged household in Lima. She is raised by maids. Her mother is abroad for several months with her stepfather. She plunges back into her fantasy world, populated by the historical national heroes who she has learned about in school – if she must go down, she will do so like a hero. Meanwhile, the house is bustling with preparations for the Christmas holidays, with everybody seemingly unfazed by the terrorist attacks shaking the country.
Con humor y corazón, este drama cuenta la historia poco convencional de Cayetana, una niña con una imaginación muy viva, que está convencida de que tendrá que morir el día que nazca su su hermano. Ambientada en los años 80, Cayetana vive en un hogar privilegiado en Lima. Ella se levanta por las camareras. Su madre está en el extranjero durante varios meses con su padrastro. Ella se sumerge de nuevo en su mundo de fantasía, poblada por los héroes históricos nacionales quien ha aprendido en la escuela – si tiene que ir hacia abajo, hay que se hacerlo como un héroe. Mientras tanto, la casa está llena de preparativos para Navidad, con todo el mundo parece inmutarse por los ataques terroristas sacudiendo el país.
