Another Dawn | Distinto Amanecer

Drama/Thriller/Romance 108 min.
One of the first films in Mexico with an urban setting and life in the big city rather than the tales of rural life. In this film a union leader is killed by order of the corrupt Governor Vidal. Octavio, a friend, searches for evidence that would implicate the murderer. In the process, he crosses paths with a former girlfriend, now married, who helps him search for the documents and is conflicted by feelings she still has for him.

Una de las primeras películas en México que se centra en el escenario urbano y en la vida de la gran ciudad en vez de las historias de la vida rural.  En esta película, un líder sindical es asesinado bajo las órdenes del corrupto gobernador Vidal.  Octavio, un amigo, busca evidencia que implicaría al asesino.  En el proceso, se topa con una ex-novia que ya está casada y que le ayuda buscar los documentos y se encuentra en conflicto por los sentimientos que todavía siente por él.

Situada en México a mediados del siglo 19, Amalia – una hermosa joven de una acaudalada familia terrateniente – se enamora de Ricardo, un humilde jefe de tripulantes.  Ricardo se va y vuelve años después un rico propietario de una mina.  El destino cruza sus caminos una vez más.

Mexican Bus Ride |Subida al Cielo

Comedy 85 min.
A young man and woman's honeymoon is cut short when the man learns that his mother has fallen ill back at home. The newlywed couple rush there to discover the other sons neglecting their mom in order to plot their squandering of the inheritance. The newlywed son takes quite an adventurous bus-ride to a distant city to get his mother's will notarized to the contrary, and is faced with multiple temptations along the way.

Se interrumpe la luna de miel de una joven pareja cuando el hombre descubre que su madre ha caído enferma en casa.  Los recién casados van de prisa y descubren que los otros hijos han desatendido a la madre para planear el despilfarro de la herencia.  El hijo recién casado tiene un aventuroso viaje en bus a una ciudad lejana para certificar por notario al contrario el testamento de su madre, y se enfrenta a múltiples tentaciones a lo largo del camino.

Nazarin

Paloma | Pueblerina

Aurelio vuelve después de estar encarcelado para vengar la violación de su amor, Paloma.  Paloma vive en las afueras del pueblo con su hijo, el producto de esa violación.  Aurelio quiere casarse con Paloma y olvidar el pasado pero se viene el atacante de Paloma para causar más problemas.  Protagonizada por Columba Dominguez y Roberto Canedo.

Una historia simbólica de un pobre buceador de perlas que halla una perla valiosa que podría mejorar las vidas de su familia.  Sin embargo, las cosas se empeoran cuando la gente con motivos ocultos saben de la perla.  Escrita por John Steinbeck, Protagonizada por Pedro Armendariz & María Elena Marques.

The Trickster's Daughter | La Hija Del Engaño

A father, firmly believing that the baby daughter in his arms is not his own, abandons her upon the doorstep of the town drunk. Many years pass, and the man finds himself continually wracked with guilt about deserting her. He begins looking for her. He finds that she has grown up to be happily married. She is also pregnant.

Un padre cree firmemente que la hija recién nacida en sus brazos no es suya y la abandona a las puertas del borracho del pueblo.  Muchos años pasan y el hombre se encuentra continuamente atormentado por la culpa de haberla abandonado.  Empieza a buscarla.  Descubre que ella ha crecido y está casada contentamente.  También, está embarazada.

Wildflower | Flor Silvestre

Jose Luis, son of a wealthy landowner, joins the revolutionary forces and marries Esperanza, a poor campesina, only to be disinherited by his father and thrown out of his home. After the revolution, things look like the couple will live happily ever when Esperanza and her son are kidnapped. Stars Pedro Armendariz & Dolores Del Rio.

Jose Luis, el hijo de un terrateniente acaudalado, se alista en las fuerzas revolucionarias y se casa con Esperanza, una campesina pobre, sólo para ser desheredado por su padre y echado de su casa.  Después de la revolución, parece que la pareja vivirá feliz para siempre cuando secuestran a Esperanza y su hijo.  Protagonizada por Pedro Armendariz y Dolores Del Rio.
